  1. This privacy policy applies to the Client (you) and to me, Nay Catina Dia-Schneebeli, trading as Dia-Schneebeli Editorial Services.
  2. I offer copyediting services for scientists preparing their manuscript for publishing. I also offer the following add-ons services: support with the cover letter and the rebuttal letter. I also offer reference formatting servives as an add-on.
  3. I am registered as a sole proprietorship in Switzerland, my country of residence.

2. Why I collect information

I collect your information for a number of reasons:

  1. Collaboration reasons
    • to manage version control,
    • and to support real-time collaboration.
  2. User experience reasons
    • to understand how visitors interact with my website,
    • and to understand what sections of my website are the most and the least visited.
  3. Syncing and storage reasons
    • to save documents to the cloud for storage,
    • and to make sure that there is a continuous backup in place.
  4. Accounting reasons
    • to keep tracks of payments.
  5. Legal reasons
    • to meet obligations under privacy regulations (e.g. New Federal Act on Data Protection (Switzerland) and the General Data Protection Regulation (European Union)),
    • and to keep audit logs.

I collect your information in a variety of ways.

I use the information collected in different ways.

My goal is to keep your data private. However, I sometimes have to share your data.

6. How long I keep your information

  1. Financial records
    • for tax-related reasons, I must keep financial records for 5 years.
  2. Correspondence
    • after the project is completed, I will not delete our correspondence unless you explicitly ask me to.
  3. Project-related files
    • after the project is completed, I will not delete our project-related files unless you explicitly ask me to.

7. Where I store your information

  1. Proton Mail and Proton Drive
    • I use Proton Mail (link to privacy policy) as my email provider and I use Proton Drive (link to privacy policy) as one of the two cloud storages I use.
    • my mailbox and my Proton Drive account are password protected.
    • Proton Mail’s and Proton Drive’s servers are in Switzerland.
  2. OneDrive
    • I use OneDrive (link to privacy policy) as my secondary cloud storage.
    • my OneDrive account is password protected.
  3. WordPress
    • I use WordPress as my website provider.
    • it is password protected.
    • it is SSL-certified and has two-step authentication enabled.

8. Your rights

  1. You have the right to access the data that I have about you.
  2. You have the right to ask for your data deletion, unless it is needed for legal reasons.

  1. I do not use generative AI or AI-assisted tools at any point in my editing process.
